Me Myself & II was brought up in charming Ballston Spa, New York and now that I am in my mid-twenties I have truly learned to appreciate the beauty and the unique character that embodies the Capital Region. I currently work for NYS Government, and while passionate about my politics, I am even more passionate about cooking.

I am a self taught cook and baker. I believe that perfection or at least excellence can be achieved and should be strived for,  even in our hobbies. I am constantly trying new techniques, learning about quality ingredients and seeking out healthier or at least better tasting foods that you can’t find packaged in a box.

In addition to being a proud Upstate New Yorker and American Citizen, I am also deeply connected to my foreign roots. I love to savor not only the food of my Dutch/Indonesian grandmother but also her stories. I strive to learn about my Spanish culinary roots.

I hope you will enjoy reading Capital Region Cuisine as much as I am when I am writing it.
